Privacy
This is a small, independent parking tool. To learn whether it’s actually useful, it counts anonymous usage. Here’s exactly what that means.
What we count
- That a visit happened, and whether this device has been here before (so we can tell if people come back).
- Which streets get tapped, when a search snaps to a block, when a plan is created, and when a “Navigate” hand-off is clicked.
- Your thumbs-up / thumbs-down on the “Was this right for your block?” question.
- A coarse device type (mobile / tablet / desktop), the day & hour and stay length you were viewing, and a per-tab session code so a single visit’s steps can be counted together.
What we deliberately do not do
- No cookies and no fingerprinting. The only thing stored on your device is a random anonymous id in your browser’s local storage — clear it any time and you’re a fresh visitor.
- No third-party analytics. No Google Analytics, no ad networks, no trackers. Events go only to this app’s own server.
- No personal data. We don’t store your name, email, precise location, or the text of what you searched. A block id is an opaque code, not an address.
- No raw IP address is stored with your events.
- If your browser sends “Do Not Track,” we count nothing at all.
Questions? This is a personal project — the whole point of the counting is to decide whether it’s worth building further.
